Communication and resilience in a demanding work environment
Challenge
Team collaboration is shaped not only by personal preferences, but also by how individuals respond to stress. Understanding both perspectives enables more conscious communication and leadership.
How the project was delivered
I designed and delivered a multi-stage development programme for diverse teams and leadership groups within a multinational pharmaceutical company.
The project encompassed 'Introduction to Insights Discovery™' workshops, team sessions, and leadership development.
A key highlight was a 1.5-day Neuro-Discovery workshop, combining Insights Discovery™ with insights from the neuroscience of stress and polyvagal theory.
Participants explored their communication preferences, stress responses, and how nervous system states influence behaviour, relationships, and collaboration. They also worked on identifying cues of safety and threat, learning to adapt their communication consciously.
The programme also featured a one-day workshop for business unit leaders, focusing on communication preferences and leveraging team differences in day-to-day management.
What made this project stand out?
Bridging Insights Discovery™ with a neurobiological perspective on stress. This enabled communication development to address both personal preferences and human physiological responses under pressure.
